Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations Ezekiel 22:2 AKJV
Imagine you’re at home. Someone forces open the door and maliciously evicts you whilst simultaneously pulling off your legs, arms and head.
Now imagine there was no public outrage over your murder, not even a whimper of protest from the church. Silence. Maybe the pastors all said it was a political issue or that it's best left to the landlord’s personal choice. The landlord may have felt inconvenienced by having a tenant stay around for nine months and didn’t wish to wait till the tenancy had naturally expired where the tenant could be moved on to one of the many ready and waiting welcoming households. Maybe the landlord felt there was a serious chance the tenant would die anyway so thought it only loving to hasten that death rather than have the inconvenience of saying goodbye in a civilised manner or the hassle of arranging specialised care or the inconvenient expense of an operation.
If we would be horrified to die in such a violent way how much more so should we want to spare children from such a fate? In case you had not yet realised, the tenant in this modern parable is an unborn baby, the home is a womb, a cervix the door and the murdering landlord is the MOTHER!
Why do churches keep silent as one in three UK mums evict their children from their wombs to the tomb? Whilst churches are falling over themselves to be seen to attend to the needs of the adult homeless - what large town in the UK doesn’t have a soup kitchen, food bank and night shelter! And this is in keeping with Jesus commandment - Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me [Matthew 25 34-36]. However, when it comes to other commandments such as If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; if thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works? [Proverbs 25 11-12]. Why do churches obey only selective commandments of Jesus and ignore others?
If the church is the body of Christ why won’t it obey what the head (Jesus) has commanded it to do? Why do Pastors spend hours expositing the Good Samaritan parable but not recognise themselves as the Priests who passed on by? Woe to ye hypocrites! There are 600 unborn babies evicted from their wombs via abortion every day in the UK. Here in MK, CEO Julia Anne Upton's Milton Keynes Community Foundation facilitates 34 abortions per week in its Acorn House on Midsummer Boulevard just to the rear of the giant Christ The Cornerstone Church. Milton Keynes General Hospital aborts 2 babies per month on average. If churches readily identify Jesus as a homeless man why do they utterly fail to see him in an evicted baby made homeless unto death? Did not Jesus stress the value of children? Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven [Matthew 19:14]. Why does the church not understand Jesus when He said Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me [Matthew 25:40]. Churches fail to see that when these 600 baby brethren made in the image of God are slaughtered each day that Jesus likens it to His being evicted, homeless and deliberately murdered. Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment [Matthew 5:21].
Maybe the churches think they are doing enough already for The Lord to overlook this silence in the face of infanticide. I would ask why then did The Holy Spirit list in the book of Kings the things that even the good Kings of Judah failed to do! Be not deceived; God is not mocked [Galatians 6:7] For I am the Lord, I change not [Malachi 3:6] heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven [Matthew 18:10].
Maybe The Holy Spirit is convicting you right now to act, to break silence on this atrocity. There is so much that can be done. In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us [Romans 8:37] We have God on our side! Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish [Matthew 18:14]. What are you waiting for? Maybe you've had an abortion in the past. Repent! If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [1 John 1:9]. Pray that The Lord will equip you in being part of a growing movement in the UK to abolish the Abortion Act 1967. The babies need us to pray for them, to write our MP's, to share graphic images via social media which humanise abortion victims and are a powerful deterrent. Abolition Society has the resources to equip you. Consider joining us. Pray for us. Maybe you feel so strongly about this that you'd like more information about starting an Abolition Society in your area. We'd love to hear from you.
